Ineract is a Rotary sponsored service club dedicated to community service and world fellowship. Since its very inception in 1997 our school's Interact Club has been actively involved in social and community welfare programmes.
The Interact Club was flagged off with visiting a nearby bustee where our children cleaned their toilets, distributed soaps and disinfectants to spread awareness about good hygiene.
Last year about 50 underprivileged children were taken for an educational tour to Nehru Children Museum.
The highlight of our Independence Day celebrations was the participation of 35 children from slum areas of Beleghata and Tiljala along with our own little
Diocinas.
The interactors visited Mulvany House on 15th August, a home for the elderly and the destitutes where they distributed gift items among the inmates in a sincere effort to give moments of happiness to those who are left to pine away in such desolation. Our children also visit ShantiNiwas and St. Joseph's Old Age Home.
Every Friday each student (Lower Nursery to Class XII) brings one onion and one potato. The collection goes to the old age homes mentioned above.
We have always extended a helping hand to people in times of distress and in keeping with this ideal the Interact Club resolved to help in a humble way the family of Late Sgt. Bapi Sen and his elder son's educational needs are being partly catered to.Bapi Sen was killed in action while trying to save a women by his own colleagues.
Diwali, the festival of lights does not necessarily illuminate the homes of one and all with happiness, therefore in an endeavour to light up little hearts crackers, sweets and woollens were distributed among 50 children of Pyara Bagan slum area on Lansdowne Road.
Welfare programmes for "Children at Risk" have been the main stay of Interact Club and in November 2004 a branch of our school was set up in Bamunbagan slum area where 26 children are taken care of. A classroom has been renovated extensively and a duly qualified teacher has been appointed and besides the supply of school stationery, nutritious mid-day meals are served.
The wrath of nature has manifested itself in various forms - be it earthquakes, floods or volcanic eruptions. Recently we witnessed one of the worst natural calamities of the century - The Tsunami rocked parts of the globe leaving a trail of destruction without sparing India.
Along with the entire global community the Interact Club endeavoured to rebuild lives and sent relief materials to the afflicted people of the Andaman.The following items were sent :-

Our students also visit the female inmates of Alipore Jail and distribute fruits and other eatables, clothes, toiletries and books and stationery for their children.
The current programme in the agenda of the Interact Club is a school for the children of the sex workers in Sonagachhi area of Kolkata. It is a new project and is still at the introductory stage. To raise funds for this purpose, a cultural evening is being organised at Netaji Indoor Stadium on Wednesday, November 30, 2005.
This Independence Day, our
interact club organised a
special lunch for our new, young
friends at Udayan, a home for the children of the
leprosy patients at Barrackpore. VIPs of National and International status are expected to grace the occasion.
